In the blue, singa
the song, old corpses
turna to dust, the handa

gone or bones. Old
birds moult or do

the song. "Man of
destiny," he say, gimme
the smoke, fucka

the world, outa the
blue, singa the song
nothin to do, alla

Southland Tales

So the guy who directed who the curiously-overrated DONNIE DARKO, Richard Kelly, is in the middle of working on his next film, SOUTHLAND TALES. It seems like it's going to be a overly ambitious career-killer. For one thing, the first three parts are (fugly) graphic novels, Two Roads Diverge, Fingerprints, and The Mechanicals. The last three parts are the movie itself. Now that's entertainment!

I've found that arguing about Kelly's last film only leads to tears and severed friendships, so my lips are sealed on this one. But dig the cast list, it's like ten Gregg Araki films rolled into one: The Rock, Seann William Scott, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Mandy Moore, Miranda Richardson, Kevin Smith, Booger from Revenge Of The Nerds, Bai Ling, Nora Dunn, Janeane Garofalo, Christopher Lambert, John Larroquette, Jon Lovitz, Cheri Oteri, Amy Poehler, that kid from Thumbsucker, Wallace Shawn, and of course Justin Timberlake.

After seeing the cast list, I knew this had to be something big, so I did a little digging and I present to you guys the EXCLUSIVE plot summary of Southland Tales:

Warning: Spoilers! After a long prison sentence Smiler Grogan (The Rock) is heading at high speed to a California park where he hid $350,000 from a job 15 years previously. He accidentally drives over a cliff in view of four cars whose occupants go down to help. The dying Grogan gives details of where the money is buried and when the witnesses fail to agree on sharing the cash, a crazy chase develops across the state.
